AGENDA Show Winter Stop – NYC

The AGENDA Show came to NYC this week bringing some of the hottest snow, skate, fashion and streetwear brands together at the Chelsea Art Museum in NYC. 53 brands participated, from up and comers like Stance Socks, to seasoned veterans like Vans and Reebok. The show was very laid back and open to exhibitors, buyers and press only. Booths were simple, mostly racks, a table and some chairs. Brad Scheuffele from Coal Headwear said that he sees the show as “more of a media PR event for new product” as opposed to a place to book orders for next season. Nonetheless he and the other vendors found it to be a very useful and important show for their businesses. Props go out to Flexfit for sponsoring and giving out your choice of 3 different dope AGENDA collab hats. All in all we’d say AGENDA was a pretty damn good time. We’ll be back this summer.

Main Event Opens at Bretton Woods

The Main Event Series opened it’s three mountain tour today at New Hampshire’s largest resort, Bretton Woods, just north of the White Mountains. It was the first time the event has ever stopped at Bretton Woods and it proved to be a successful one at that. With 2 feet of powder dropping earlier in the week, the resort had plenty of snow to work with. Snow Grind put together the course consisting of a perfectly cut 50′ cheese wedge up top and either a T-box or hanging buoy bonk/punching bag to choose from at the bottom of the course. The morning got off to a very cold start, single digits, and eventually opened up to bluebird skies and sunshine for practice. Riders poured in from all over the East Coast and Canada to compete in varying age groups (micron – heavyweight).

Judging was tough with so much talent to choose from but with time running short, the field was narrowed to the top ten and two runs were given to each rider. Conditions changed fast and the finals saw colder temps, overcast skies and increasing snow showers. The women’s class threw down and in the welterweight division Phoebe Novello, Taylor Owen and Quincy Korte-Kingy took first, second and third. In mens lightweight, Jack Herald, Nick Abbascia and Jed Sky took the top three with best trick going to Ben Winchell for his one-footer. Mad props!

Riders threw everything from double backflips to backside 10′s all day long. The mens heavyweights were strong as usual, but Yale Cousino was the most consistent and therefore earned himself $500 cash, a ton of prizes and the number one points-earning for the Bretton Woods stop. Brendan Hart and Zack Normandin rounded out second and third for mens. Rob Hallowell’s front 450 on the hanging Vitamin Water buoy earned him best trick for the division as well. Two more stops to go (Sugarbush and Sugarloaf) before we’ll know who’s taking home the belts for the 8th year and running of the Main Event Series. Check out more pics from the day soon. here.

Crotched kicked off Midnight Madness with a bang this year. In case you don’t know what Midnight Madness is, it’s basically the best thing ever. The mountain stays open for night riding every Friday and Saturday night during the peak of winter till 3am!
