Rally For Roc City Skatepark
This is an awesome event for a great cause in upstate New York – much love! The Rally for the Roc City Skatepark will feature a skateboarding and bmx biking experience, exhibitions by pro skateboarders, contests, physical activities in which children can participate, family activities, music, delicious food, a parent oasis area, art exhibit, silent auction and VIP event at Max at High Falls. Help the city raise money to build a world-class, public, cement skatepark and change the face of Rochester. For good.
Spring Fling Skate Jam At Plymouth

May 7th is the Spring Fling Skate Jam at Plymouth from 11-4pm. If you don;t know by now, Plymouth is trying to build a sick concrete skatepark in the near future and with your help it can become a reality. The Silver Center parking lot in downtown Plymouth will play host to the event which ties into PSU’s annual Spring Fling campus event as well. Always a wild weekend in Plymouth. Go check it out and support the cause!
Internview #9 – Evan Dybvig

What Exactly is it that you do?
Good question. I have no idea. My title is managing member of Whaleback Mountain, which means that as a co-owner who is also a manager I do whatever I can to try and make the business thrive and survive. I also manage our summer and winter programs, coach our winter Freestyle Core Team, and manage our summer and winter events. I guess that the list goes on from there.

What is your favorite part of your job?
There is nothing better than having a great event or program where people have a great time and everything goes smoothly. I have also really enjoyed having my kids come to the mountain and have fun. Whether it is my son, Louis, learning to snowboard and really starting to shred this year or my other kids, Owen and Rose, spending time with the awesome people that work at Whaleback and loving it.

If you could go or ride anywhere in the world where would it be?
Whaleback Mountain on a great powder day. Seriously!
On a lighter note, whats one thing you can’t live without?
Steez Magazine.

Who’s your favorite super hero? If you could have any power in the world what would it be?
Batman, because he has the coolest stuff. And I would like to be able to fly.
And last but not least, whats the last thing you ate today? Was it good?
Leftover’s from last nights meal I made. Absolutely.

May Day at Jay Peak

Yesterday was May 1st and Jay Peak still had tons of snow! It was some of the latest resort riding we’ve ever done on the east and it was awesome. 70 degree weather and blue bird skies, if you didn’t leave with a goggle tan then you left with a sunglass tan. Jay is scheduled to open yet again next weekend, May 7th and 8th which will most likely round out the year for them without any disappointment. Get up there is you get the chance, you won’t be sorry. On a final note, if you “picked up” our GoPro while you were there yesterday, do the right thing – please return it to us… Thanks.
