Experiences Like Snowflakes – Benji Farrow
I’m back. Home in Vermont after a month and a half in Wanaka New Zealand!!! This was the second consecutive year I traveled down to Kiwi land for our summer (their winter) to train and compete. Unfortunately, this year I went down there with a bit of a knee injury which limited my progression, but I was still able to ride normally. Here is the first post of many I hope to release over the next few weeks! Enjoy the photos!

In my last post I was stuck in Auckland for two days because of a snowstorm that shut down the Queenstown Airport. After I finally made it down to the South Island I met up with my coach Ashley Berger and the rest of the SSWSC Team ( SteamBoat Springs Winter Sports Club ). The first couple days in NZ we rode at Cardrona Alpine resort, the weather was pretty bad but it was still fun to get back on the board and make some turns. A week after we had arrived in Wanaka we found out about a Quarter Pipe Jam at SnowPark. Registration was free and the weather was beautiful so we drove up to SnowPark and started sending it! Maddy Schaffrick is back and killing it, and though she came in second to Queralt Castellet, Maddy was sending the highest airs of the day! Taylor was also boosting out of the QP with some very impressive methods and MichelChucks! Here are some photos, sorry for the quality, some photos were taken off a video.

The sign to SnowPark! Every sticker involved in professional winter sport can be found on the sign! See if you can find the US Snowboarding and SSWSC stickers!

Arielle! Riding with the van door open at 100kph so she can yell at sheep. EPIC.

Maddy Faffin Schaffrick using her wings! up there with style.

Queralt won the womens division while I took home best trick!!
Next post coming soon!!
