SNAP Infusion Supercandy Interview

Snap Infusion Supercandy

Say hello to sweet satisfaction. SNAP Infusion, the world’s first Supercandy has arrived. It’s candy that’s good for you – packed with tons of electrolytes and B vitamins to get you moving, whether you’re skating, snowboarding, or waking up from a rough night of partying. There’s no high-fructose corn syrup and no empty calories to hold you back from accomplishing great things.
I spoke with CEO Eric Stoll, of Andover, MA, to get the low-down on the “better for you” gummy, tart, caramel and bean candies.

What’s the difference between eating a pack of SNAP Infusion Supercandy and eating some of my favorite candies like Snickers and Starbursts?
I’m a skier and a snowboarder and the last thing you want is to have a sugar crash on the mountain. That’s why we use natural sugars because your body can naturally digest them and you don’t get that crash. SNAP also has about half the calories of a normal candy bar.

So, you’re saying SUPERCANDY will satisfy a sweet tooth, and it’s a health food?
We’re not claiming to be an apple, but we’re far from junk food. It’s hard to get this product to taste good. SNAP is loaded with B-vitamins that work with the natural sugars. It has Vitamins E and C for hydration. In fact, one pack of SNAP has around 30% of the daily value of vitamins and electrolytes.

You’re the mastermind behind SNAP, what inspired its creation?
I always looked at this brand as a fusion between Nike and Willy Wonka. I used to go on these long biking treks with colleagues and eventually I would become carb deprived and have a sugar crash. I noticed there were only two options at sports stores – candy, or all this performance enhancing stuff that doesn’t taste too good. You really didn’t have that mainstream brand where you had that good taste and it’s good for you. Being in that marketplace is where SNAP came about. It’s about instant gratification, it’s a candy-like formation infused with health benefits.
So, what inspired me? I’m an athlete and an artist. I looked at the candy as a palette and I fused things two things I loved – candy and eating healthy.

Snap Infusion

There’s five varieties to choose from – Mel (short for caramel), Tart, Gummy, Bean and Gum. That’s a wide variety – any particular reason?
That’s the Nike side of me. It’s really beautiful the way they do they’re merchandising. Everything fits together and there’s always something for everyone. We’re a healthy lifestyle company for generation next. I wanted to go natural and feel like we wouldn’t have to sit in a Whole Foods.

Which variety do you like to snack on?
Tart is my favorite. It has a tangy taste but it’s more candy-like than Flintstone Vitamins.
I’ve gone out and played two and a half hours of tennis after a bag of Tart, and I felt awesome! It was an epiphany for me. I started realizing how my diet really affects my life. I used to drink a Red Bull before going to the gym. Now, I’ll have any SNAP candy before I train or workout. I eat it as a snack while I’m at work. Finally, I’ve yet to have it during the winter, but it will be in my ski jacket all season long as I ski the East Coast powder and moguls.

You said SNAP stands for that instant gratification. It’s active and action oriented. What’s SUPERCANDY doing now?
We want to start sponsoring a few semi-pro female snowboarders that have reached out to SNAP. I love the culture, and the brand is so unisex. Nobody’s going to stop eating candy. But SUPERCANDY is a new category, bringing a little attitude to a natural brand. I love the Willy Wonka side of SNAP and having that personality come through in our candies.

Are you creating more flavors and varieties?
Yes, we have a great team that is working developing a few new flavors.

Can I get a taste of what’s coming?
Nope. I’d love to tell you, but we’re pretty early in the production process. First, we’d like to solidify SNAP Infusion as it stands today and be recognized as a brand. There isn’t anything else like SNAP out there right now.

That’s right, SUPERCANDY! Where can I grab a pack?
We have a store locator on the website. Right now, we’re selling at Eastern Boarder, gyms around the region, natural food markets in New York, and few ski mountains have picked us up as well.

Cheap Thrills Interview

So I watched the promo for “Cheap Thrills” and it definitely got me stoked to go skate. What made you decide to start a video?
Skateboarding has always been my inspiration. The pure fun of skateboarding alone amazes me most. Especially when its captured on film.

Is this the first video that you’ve made?
Amongst all the mini projects with Jordan Fortuna, this is the first full length we have made.

What other videos really inspired you?
There are so many inspirational videos out there. Anything local is always a hype up, near or far.

Do you feel that you’re influenced by those videos in making this one?
With all of the advances in technology, it allows you to get a little bit more fancy. A creative eye always helps seeing that skateboarding is an art-form itself.

I saw a pretty sick 50-50 on the fender of a car in the promo, who was that?
Ahh man, that was a good session. Most of them are, especially when Ryan Quigley decides to join. With his selection of spots and unique bag of tricks, Quigs never fails to amaze.

Who’s part are you really stoked on so far?
Well, I’m really stoked on it all. Everyone has been working really hard. We had a few people start filming later on, and there stuff is going to be something to watch for. The young guys have been progressing fast and destroying it. As far as the other guys…damn!

Have you found a lot more challenges filming than you thought you would encounter?
I guess challenges can come from any number of different things. When you add more people, there is more to consider. It may stem from spots being a bust or destroyed to tricks being missed on the session. ( Fred Hein, KF backside nosegrind, Lowell 3 Stair).

What’s the most hilarious moment you’ve caught on footy so far?
There are to many funny times caught, only way to find out is to check out the vid.

Is making a video as much fun as you thought it would be?
It’s really something that is very involved. You must be prepared for the challenges that come with making a skate film.

Last words and shout outs?
Dave – thanks to everyone who helped out filming, skating, and anyone involved. Thanks mom.
Jordan – Tunas’ got the ill fish angle, shout out to whoever looks forward to this video, thanks mom for my first camera.

Internview #14 – Shawn Dumont

What exactly is it that you do?
I am currently the lead designer for all soft goods categories at the Rome Snowboard Design Syndicate. From Outerwear to t-shirts, caps, bags, hoodies and gloves I am responsible for graphics. In the past few years I have started working on the product design which I’m excited about. It’s a small group of designers here so I jump on catalog sh*t from time to time and hard goods product gets thrown my way once in a while.
Currently I am Art Directing The Shred Remains which has been really fun and definitely a highpoint in my career thus far! Things are coming together really well, be sure to check out the teaser that should be out now.

What is your favorite part of your job?
It’s all great! I love riding with the crew. I get to travel a bit which is nice. I really just love making things. The most rewarding part of my job is riding at the mountain and seeing a young kid riding in a piece of product I made. I remember as a kid saving up 20 bucks and going to NuWave in Laconia, NH to buy a t-shirt. It was such a process looking through every t-shirt and deciding on the best one. I get stoked when kids choose to spend their hard earned money on things I make. Makes my day.

If you could go or ride anywhere in the world where would it be?
Hmmm, well these days I really enjoy riding at Stowe on a secret powder day with a good crew from the office. We ride most mornings during the season and once in a great while we’ll get these storms that sneak in thru the night and dump a foot or more of fresh. I don’t think it gets much better than riding with friends at your home mountain on a secret powder day.

I’ve been trying to get an AK trip together with some old friends from my Steamboat days but im not sure if I’ll ever get the time and money together.

On a lighter note, what’s one thing you can’t live without?
Cigarettes, funny that the one thing I can’t live without will eventually kill me..

Who’s your favorite super hero? If you could have any power in the world what would it be?
Favorite super hero? I don’t know… I’m not into magic powers and sh*t, but it would be nice to light a smoke on a windy chairlift without f**king with a lighter.

And last but not least, what’s the last thing you ate today? Was it good?
My lady and I walked down to Ben and Jerry’s to get an ice cream (its hot as f**k here). It was great until my dog threw up all over Church St… and I lost my appetite.

Internview #13 – Preston Strout

What exactly is it that you do?
I’m in the business of making fun, making business fun, and making fun of business. I’m part owner and Executive Director of High Cascade Snowboard Camp, and I’m also starting a brand called Crab Grab, plus, during the winter, I do a bunch of announcing too (apparently I have a good voice for saying “double cork” all f—ing day long). Underneath those three umbrellas is a ball beating of emailing, phone calling, decision making, and faxing.

What is your favorite part of your job?
Working with our staff of 135 amazing people at HCSC, hands down.

If you could go or ride anywhere in the world where would it be?
Loon Mtn, NH.

On a lighter note, what’s one thing you can’t live without?
Haven’t figured that out yet. If I turn up dead somewhere, go see what I didn’t have on me.

Who’s your favorite super hero? If you could have any power in the world what would it be?
Ahhh, whoever’s fighting the good fight. I’m not that hyped on most super heros. Batman seems kinda like a prick, I’m afraid of spiders (and thus the man). Superman’s outfit looks ridiculous, and the Green Lantern seems like a poor excuse for a summer blockbuster. My power would be the ability to make onions to disappear from my food (or Earth as a whole).

And last but not least, what’s the last thing you ate today? Was it good?
It was biscuits and gravy cooked and served by the HCSC Kitchen Staff – it was f—ing awesome!

Internview #12 – Travis Moore

What Exactly is it that you do?
SASS Global Travel was launched to revolutionize adventure travel worldwide. With an industry-leading sustainable travel vision, SGT offers exceptional trip opportunities to clients as they surf, ski, dive and ride in some of the most extraordinary destinations on Earth. With a core set of principles that go far beyond traditional tour operators — including cultural immersion, personal development, and physical well-being, SASS Global Travel creates transcendent life experiences that are far more than a vacation.

What is your favorite part of your job?
My favorite part of my job is creating experiences second to none for individuals. Listening to clients say “I just had the best day of my life” is what makes me tick and continue to provide the energy and experiences to make dreams come true.

If you could go or ride anywhere in the world where would it be?
Not to be bias, but my favorite place to ride is still Argentina Patagonia, with the SASS family. Shredding pow in a foreign country in the heart of the US summer is something that makes me happy!

On a lighter note, whats one thing you can’t live without?
I can’t live without ice cream!! It has been a staple in my diet my whole life and it is something that I can’t live without.

Who’s your favorite super hero? If you could have any power in the world what would it be?
Super Man, so I could fly to wherever I needed to go and make it easy to surf waves and ride powder during the crazy storms that happen throughout the year.

And last but not least, whats the last thing you ate today? Was it good?
Today, I had a chicken salad sandwich prepared by my wife and it was amazing!!

Internview #11 – Julianne “Jewels” Ireland

What Exactly is it that you do?
Great question! Well I’m the Sales Manager for the State Park which includes the winter and summer businesses. The winter is based mostly around groups, both national and international, as well as working with upwards of 80 lodging properties to offer one of the best value deals for a ski & stay package. You can also see me selling some tickets here and there, working events, and “testing” the product! The spring is preparation time for the thousands of people who will be visiting the Tram and Flume. I help organize groups (general and Tour Operators), facilitate the sales of Tram and Flume tickets at the same local lodging properties, sell Tram tickets, and organize events in Profile Field (this is a growing aspect of my job). Finally, the fall is spent on the road at colleges, universities, ski clubs and ski shows. This is the best part of my job, but also the most demanding. You are all over New England, but the good news is that I can talk about something that I absolutely love!

What is your favorite part of your job?
The traveling. I’m getting to a ton of states that I would not have otherwise gone to (Texas this year)! The skiing part is pretty awesome too…

If you could go or ride anywhere in the world where would it be?
Can’t pick one, but mostly likely a warm, small island.

On a lighter note, whats one thing you can’t live without?
I can’t live without my two Boxers (Baylie and Dozer)!

Who’s your favorite super hero? If you could have any power in the world what would it be?
I kinda dig Storm from X-Men. I don’t know what my power would be, but it would have something to do with flying at a fast rate of speed. I’m sure if I sat here all day I could come up with some good ones….but work calls.

And last but not least, what’s the last thing you ate today? Was it good?
A bagel! I could live on cream cheese! How could a fresh bagel toasted with the perfect amount cream cheese be bad?

Internview #10 – Pat Morgan

What Exactly is it that you do?
I work for Holiday Valley Resort as Terrain Park Manger and Youth Marketing Manager as well as a slew of independent projects.
What is your favorite part of your job?
Getting to shred nearly everyday, designing parks, s’updating and tweeting.

If you could go or ride anywhere in the world where would it be?
Probably Mammoth. That place just kills it on so many level. I’d love to take a heli trip someday in BC or Alaska though.
On a lighter note, whats one thing you can’t live without?
My blackberry… yep, I said it, I’m addicted.

Who’s your favorite super hero? If you could have any power in the world what would it be?
Hmm… The new Batman seems kinda cool, he parties, hangs out with hot chicks, and has a slew of gadgets. It’s a toss up between xray vision and flying, heck I’d take both.

And last but not least, whats the last thing you ate today? Was it good?
I had a breakfast plate here at work glistening with grease, washed down by a sugar free Red Bull. After all coffee is bad for you.

Internview #9 – Evan Dybvig

What Exactly is it that you do?
Good question. I have no idea. My title is managing member of Whaleback Mountain, which means that as a co-owner who is also a manager I do whatever I can to try and make the business thrive and survive. I also manage our summer and winter programs, coach our winter Freestyle Core Team, and manage our summer and winter events. I guess that the list goes on from there.

What is your favorite part of your job?
There is nothing better than having a great event or program where people have a great time and everything goes smoothly. I have also really enjoyed having my kids come to the mountain and have fun. Whether it is my son, Louis, learning to snowboard and really starting to shred this year or my other kids, Owen and Rose, spending time with the awesome people that work at Whaleback and loving it.

If you could go or ride anywhere in the world where would it be?
Whaleback Mountain on a great powder day. Seriously!

On a lighter note, whats one thing you can’t live without?
Steez Magazine.

Who’s your favorite super hero? If you could have any power in the world what would it be?
Batman, because he has the coolest stuff. And I would like to be able to fly.

And last but not least, whats the last thing you ate today? Was it good?
Leftover’s from last nights meal I made. Absolutely.

What is your favorite part of your job?
I get to be a part of three great companies as well as meet a lot of great people. I also get to travel all over New England.

If you could go or ride anywhere in the world where would it be?
A nice pow day in the back bowls at Smuggs is definitely high on the list, but Alaska would be pretty fun too.

On a lighter note, whats one thing you can’t live without?
Snowboarding.

Who’s your favorite super hero? If you could have any power in the world what would it be?
Captain America, not really sure what power he has, but I’ll go with teleporting… Pow day – boom you’re at the top of the mountain.

And last but not least, whats the last thing you ate today? Was it good?
A bowl of Honey Nut Cheerios and a cup of coffee.

Internview #7 – Katherine Langlands

What Exactly is it that you do?
After I drink some coffee and have a toast with peanut butter and sprinkled sea salt I put on my first layer and my snowboard pants and drive to Darkside. There are a couple of other things that happen between coffee and leaving the house but I am not going to list them here. Once I get to Darkside, I realize I forgot my snowboard socks at home so I get a new pair of socks. I put on my boots and ask one of the guys to help me change my stance on my snowboard, so we do that for the next 30 minutes and then I put on the rest of my gear but realize I lost one mitten. If I didn’t have to choose a lip balm on the way to the wall of mitts I’d get to the lift on time where my buds have waited for me and head for the Stash where I know I’ll meet up with so many cool associates. A couple of hours of fierce big air and extreme chilling leaves me wishing for the pleather couch at Darkside. A cool associate asks if I want to party tonight so I say, “Sure.” DS is humming with our peeps so I wait on a rider looking at jackets. She chooses a puffy in a color that will match the pants I’m wearing cuz she wants to wear rad pants just like mine. When I bring her purchases up to the counter she asks if I want to ride tomorrow. “Sure”, I say.

After that I sit on the couch and eat a piece of pizza while I update the Darkside facebook. A rider from PA is trying on boots and I suggest he check out darksidesnowboards.com if he remembers something else he wants when he’s back in PA. Since his girlfriend is just hangin I ask her if she wants to see the indoor DS bungee riding video I just posted on the DS facebook.

A rider buying a new board asks me if the Darkside die-cuts are waterproof. I tell him they’re not Gore-Tex but they’ll stay on.

“Do I get a free die-cut with the board?” “Sure,” I say.

A grom asks if he can buy the pot leaf die-cut before his mom comes up to the counter. “Sure,” I answer.

Since some of my job description at Darkside is artistic applications I attach a glittery banner from one of our vendors to an artistic mobile I’ve been growing all season. Sounds simple, but I had to ask Will to get the big ladder out for me and then climb up holding fish line, scissors as well as the banner. “Want me to hand you this goggle-popup-poster thing too?” he asks. “Sure,” I say. “Why the hell do you still have your snowboard boots on?” he says. “I’ve been too busy to take them off,” I say.

What is your favorite part of your job?
The people, definitely the people- especially the people who I work with at Darkside. They are all fun to be around. Snowboarders are always up to something interesting, creative and cool. I also really like snowboarding.

If you could go or ride anywhere in the world where would it be?
Anywhere with pow, a cabin and a hot tub.

On a lighter note, whats one thing you can’t live without?
I could not live without clean H20. I couldn’t live without my family and friends either, and a puffy jacket would be nice too.

Who’s your favorite super hero? If you could have any power in the world what would it be?
Well, I’d like be able to fly and I really like Dora the Explorer.

And last but not least, whats the last thing you ate today? Was it good?
Pesto pasta – it’s my favorite and it was delicious.

Internview #6 – Beau Lambert

What Exactly is it that you do?
I am the General Manager of Rye Airfield which means I get to do everything from clean toilets to shout tricks for kids to do on demand. There is never a normal day, today I built a gate to make it easier for us to get mop buckets to the vert ramp, repaired a couple boxes, laughed at Ben’s funny story and tried not to look at the sparks when he was welding BUT IT’S SO HARD! Then we built a railing and closed in a ramp that was a little too open. The real work started after that, calls to the insurance company, planning for ramp camp, some quick editing on flyers Ryan did then pack it all in for a quick ride home and a 3 hour meeting with my local park & rec department, about a 15 hour day, but it’s so fun.

What is your favorite part of your job?
Working with people of all ages and walks. It’s pretty rad when you can talk with a 7 year old about school and skating then turn around and talk to their parent about hitting the slopes.

If you could go or ride anywhere in the world where would it be?
I’d love to snowboard out of Baldface Lodge, look it up, my bud just got back and already put a deposit down for next year.

On a lighter note, whats one thing you can’t live without?
My wife & kids, ok that’s 4 things, but they are all that matters. Then it’s M&M’s

Who’s your favorite super hero? If you could have any power in the world what would it be?
Iron Man thanks to Robert Downey Jr. It would be sweet to fly.

And last but not least, whats the last thing you ate today? Was it good?
A granny smith apple and it was the first good one I have eaten in a while so they must be coming into season somewhere. Last month they were complete crap.

I know you’re the marketing director at Wildcat Mountain, but what exactly do you do?
From A to Z, I might have my hands in directing and developing every aspect of marketing and advertising at Wildcat Mountain including analytics, budgeting, buying, brand management, brochures (design & distribution), communication, copywriting, creative, design, email, events, media, merchandising, networking, newsletters, outdoor advertising, partnerships, press (releases & relationships), print advertising, OTC and online product & pricing management, public relations, radio, social media, specials & promotions, television, trade shows, yield management, video & web.

© Brian Nevins/getinthevan.com

What did you do to get to where you are today?
Fell in love with skiing at an early age, so the passion for the sport has always been there. Honestly, it started way back living in Acton, Massachusetts when early in high school, my first job in the ski industry was tuning skis at a Carroll Reed Ski Shop. From there, I’ve spent time in almost every aspect of the industry having been a ski instructor at Nashoba Valley; working retail and never getting too far away from a tuning bench or Wintersteiger in various ski shops; bumped chairs as a liftie in Tahoe at Alpine Meadows; managed ticket, season pass, and reservation software and sales staff at Attitash; and finally here at Wildcat Mountain. The above experience was in no way linear and there were other non-linear breaks in there to graduate college; reside in a shack on Cape Cod; cook in restaurants; really understand human psyche as a coffee barista in Concord, MA; managing editor for a Boston-based music magazine that gave me incredible insight on publicity; and log some suit & tie experience as an acquisitions editor for a professional and higher education textbook publisher in Sudbury, MA. Everything has helped to get me where I am today and for anyone interested in the resort-side of things in this industry, I’d recommend trying to understand how every department contributes to the overall operation and that every job provides an opportunity to learn something to use later in life. Of course, there have been friends, mentors, colleagues, industry relations, and many great what I would call “leaders” along the way. I’ve always tried to and continue to learn from everyone.

Are the best things in life really free?
Hmm…that’s a question open for a lot of thought and interpretation. I feel whether they’re perceived to be “free” or come at a cost, the challenge is opening your eyes at those moments when the best “thing” in life is actually happening or presented to you.

© Brian Nevins/getinthevan.com

Would you rather use a pen or a pencil?
I recently picked up a 4-pack of the new Zebra Sarasa SE model black gel pen with a .7mm tip. I sound like Patrick Bateman getting real specific, but they’re pretty sweet.

What was the last thing you wasted money on?
I’m trying not to waste money these days. There are definitely some awesome people whom I can’t thank enough at Volkl, Bern, Bolle, Dakine, & Patagonia who helped me out this season to keep me geared out with what I need to have fun on the snow. Definitely not a waste of my money, but I expect to keep dumping even more money this summer in to a vintage ’85 MasterCraft Prostar S&S ski boat that I own.

© Brian Nevins/getinthevan.com

Lastly, what is your favorite part about working in this industry?
My favorite part of the industry is the people in it and their passion for the sport. I think anyone that has been working in it for a while will tell you that the industry is smaller than you’d think and that just about everyone in it is there because of their passion to have fun on snow and to share that experience with others.

Internview #4 – Lawrence Kwong

I know you’re the owner of Minutia Skateboards, but what exactly do you do?
Way too much, but at the same time not enough! Seeing that there is only Jessie and I on a super tight budget, we pretty much have to do everything ourselves. I used to develop brands on the side, but I got sick of dealing with annoying clients and trying to collect their money. Jessie and I still work full-time jobs, so as of right now, Minutia is our hobby/creative outlet that we spend our extra cash on.. cash that should probably be going into a savings account or a 401k, but wtf… this business keeps us happy and creative. We do all of our own artwork/designs, photography, marketing, and maintenance of our website/ecommerce store. Our friend Brooksie does all of our video and editing. Together we unite to get our drink-on and create til our eyes bleed! There’s nothing better than having fun, doing what you love.

It’s pretty cool that you and your wife started this company. What is it like working with your wife, and how long did it take you two to get to where you are now in this industry?
We started Minutia in October of 2008. The name stemmed from a really bad day at work. My old bosses used to suck big-time. One day they put me in charge of something they had botched, but failed to give me the “little details” that were needed to get the job done. I went home bitching to my wife about my day, and the awesome person that she is told me, “Don’t they know that it’s the “minutia” that is important?” and that’s where it all began. Since I was little, I always wanted to design graphics for a skateboard company. Now that we had our name, I figured why not start one ourselves and see where we could take it. Even before we started Minutia we had always been a good team. From supporting me while I was in design school, to buying our first house together, to raising our team mascot the amazing Yum Yum a.k.a Yumbo Dog a.k.a Yumbolina a.k.a Yummy, i would be nothing without Jessie.

If you could describe skateboarding in one word what would it be?
“mikeflashnernatestuartbrianholbrookbrianwellsdavebelcherjoeglynnsteveclarkderekkannaly” – that was easy…

What would your last meal be?
I feel like this question was made just for me. My latest cravings have been either chicken and waffles from the Hen House in Boston, or Dim Sum at Chau Chow City in Dorchester. Then again, any type of buffet would do… all day kehd!!!

Why do you think men and women shoe sizes are different?
I guess it’s like a win win situation. This way the ladies don’t feel like they have huge tranny feet and men can feel like they have big dongs.

What’s the future looking like for Minutia?
So far so good… there’s nowhere else to go but further. We just want to stay true to what we do, keep our riders and fans happy, and hope that one day we can do this full-time.

Internview #3 – Mark Wakeling

I know you’re the New England Rep for Oakley, but what exactly do you do?
I handle sales, merchandising, training and a whole bunch of other things for all sports accounts in Maine, New Hampshire, and Massachusetts.

What’s your favorite part about working in this industry?
Selling products that I 100% believe in and use and test everyday, and all the great friends that I have met and work with.

What’s one of your pet peeves?
Kids who snowboard with their pants rolled up. Roll them down, it keeps snow from getting in your boots! Also, it will ruin any chance you have of being a pro snowboarder.

If you could go anywhere where would it be?
High Cascade Snowboard Camp!

If you were a super hero what would your super power be?
Unbreakable!

Lastly, how did you get to where you are today?
A lot of luck, hard work, good friends and a very understanding wife.

You’re the owner of No School Snowboard Shop, but what exactly do you do?
EVERYTHING! I also own Triple Diamond Ski Shop next door to No School, so all my duties are doubled! I attend trade shows and place all the orders for the shops from over 50 different companies. I do payroll and all the associated forms and taxes that come with that every two weeks. I pay lots of taxes and insurance and utility bills. Take garbage to the dump. Plow both parking lots every time it snows. Shovel snow. Clean the bathrooms. Restock the stores when needed. Set up store displays. Zip and straighten all the coats and pants and stuff that customers throw around the shops. Sell! Ride when I can find the time. Answer lots of phone calls. Make lots of phone calls. Deal with banks, and mortgage companies, and any customer problems. Manage Facebook pages for both shops. Handle all the money and deposits from both shops. Balance the check books. Pay tons of invoices! Advertise in print, internet and radio. I cut my own radio ads. I always have a direct hand in my print advertising. Maintenance on both shops. Did I mention I pay a lot of bills?!?! The duties are endless. I think most people underestimate how much work it is owning a business. And on top of that I try to find time for myself, my friends, my family and riding.
